May 2012

This month flew by. Porter is 10 months old and started clapping and dancing. It's so cute turning music on for him and seeing him bounce up and down.

We had so much fun watching Mclain, Bryant, and Madi while Brent and Andrea were in New Zealand. We kept them busy with lots of fun activities.
One of the first things I enjoyed was leaving  all the boys at home and taking Madi to get our nails done.

For Memorial Day we got up early and walked down the street to watch the parade. There were tons of cool cars and motorcycles, but after 30 minutes or so we all got hot and tired so we decided to make the walk back home.

Scott proposed to me on Memorial Day at Oak Glen, so we made a trip out there and visited the same park bench he proposed at. The kids fed a ton of animals at the petting zoo and Porter wanted to grab all of their ears. While we were waiting outside of the museum a baby bird that was rescued by the museum owners landed on Mclain's shoulder. It was so funny!
At the end of our adventurous day we let all of the kids pick a candy from the sweet shop and we headed home.

We also made a trip to the beach with the family. Porter had been once before when he was about 3 months old, so this trip was quite different. He discovered sand for the first time and boy did he love it! I let him put the first handful in his mouth, thinking he wouldn't like it and wouldn't do it again. WRONG. He couldn't get enough of it. He liked how it felt in his hands so he would raise his arms high and then release it in the wind. He then proceeded to rub it in his hair and all over his face. We took him in the water and he loved that too! He's a little beach bum already.

Our next adventure with the kids was camping in Big Bear. Carla and her boys were able to join us! Our campsite was gorgeous and the weather was so nice. Here's a list of our activities...
Fishing
Hiking
Going to the Discovery Center
Alpine Slide
Going to town
Playing Games

We had so much fun going to all of these places. Next stop...Yellow Stone!
