September 2013

 September 1, 2013  was Max's blessing day.

There were so many people that came to show their love and support for our little one.

Zander was blessed on the same day, so we decided to combine the event. Holley and I threw a lunch together for both of our families, and we enjoyed a nice afternoon visiting with loved ones.

I apologize for all of these pictures, but I'm printing this for Max's baby book so...deal with it.

The rest of the month we took it easy.

I finally caught Max smile on camera.

We made a trip to the kid gym for Port...

I let him lick the batter...

Lately he's been really interested in the petting zoo at Disneyland.
And on September 25 he counted to 10 all by himself! Smarty pants.

Max still has crazy hair at 2 months old...
He kicks his legs all the time
He coos and smiles A LOT
I feel like I'm always feeding him
and he's starting to suck on his hand.
At 10 weeks old he slept through the night for the first time, but it was a fluke. He still gets up every 2-3 hours at night

and every baby needs a picture like this with their dad.

August 2013

I'm still in a new mom funk...

Getting no sleep is hard, and I'm constantly feeling guilty about not spending enough time with each of my boys. It's just the hormones, right?

Ok, enough complaining. Now lets focus on how cute my kids are.

Max is a doll!

This boy loves to be held, and I love to do the holding.
At 3 weeks he was 10lbs and 22.75 inches long.
He started smiling regularly at 6 weeks. I've yet to catch it on camera, but it melts my heart.

Port is becoming quite the cook. His new obsession is bagel pizza.

His hitting phase has taken a turn for the worse. I've literally tried everything from "time outs", taking toys away, holding his hands down, etc. People say he just has to grow out of it, but I feel so bad for his little victims...(Kylie and Miles).

Other than that he's the sweetest kid you'll ever meet.

Brent and Andrea invited us to come to their beach house for the day, which made it Max's first trip to the beach!

It was so nice being able to sit inside and watch Porter play in the sand.

Max also had his first day of church this month.

I want to squeeze him.

Porter had the honors of giving Max his first bottle. We waited til Max was 4 weeks, to see if he would take one, and he did!

Max is still a happy and content baby.

I promised Scott I would have the boys nap in their own beds. Just wanted to post this before I got rid of the evidence.

At the end of this month, we took Max to the happiest place on earth.

This is what he did most of the time...

but eventually Disneyland will be one of his favorite places.

The rest of July 2013

It's been quite an adventure getting use to a home with 2 kids.
I love them both so much!

We'll start with a Max update.
Max is a wonderful baby...he never cries, and when he does he's super easy to soothe
It's the cutest thing when he's sad...he whimpers and squeaks like a little puppy
He likes being swaddled in blankets
He's super strong and already rolls onto his side and lifts his neck up
He's quite the kicker
And he gets hiccups all the time...just like he did when I was pregnant!
He has crazy hair that sticks straight up and looks like a Mohawk

Here are a few pictures of his 3 day check up...

We're so in love!

I can't get enough of the sleeping pictures!

Max had a few more visitors come to the house to see him...

Brooklyn

Jacob

Kristie

and Jared.

Now it's Porter's turn...

Porter has been as active as ever, and it's been a challenge trying to find things for him to do while he's couped up in the house with me.

A cardboard box always does the trick...

and so does play dough!

I've been trying to do 30 minute "mommy and me" dates once a week, so that Porter gets my attention. I think it may be more for me than him though. For 2 years it was just me and him playing together all day, it's been an adjustment trying to balance my attention.

We usually go to Petco on Saturdays to see all the puppies. It's the perfect activity because he loves animals and it's close to home in case the baby needs me.

I feel like I need to give a big shout out to Brent and Andrea. They have helped us with Porter so much. They have taken him to the zoo multiple times...

and they watched him for us when I had the baby.

He loves spending time with them, and talks about their family often at home.

I'm so grateful for the rest of our family and friends that have helped us with our new one. My sister, Jessie, came over multiple times a week to help me after the C-section. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her.
My mom came over to help with everything.
Tim and Jeanne brought meals and babysat.
Kevin and Holley took Porter for a day...and she was about to have her own baby!

I know I'm forgetting to name drop a whole bunch of people, but we love our family and friends so much, and truly appreciate the kindness they showed us.
